Region members conduct annual region conferences, state, province or area drive-ins, promote NACADA membership and develop programs which fit the needs of their specific region. Region Chairs, working with their steering committees, lead the functions of the regions. How did this established and accomplished woman get to where she is now?
She then moved onto the hustle and bustle of the Admissions office, and notes that this is the best place to work if you want to know how the University works.
Meisha eventually moved to advising, first for Environmental Science majors, then for engineering majors, and now for Journalism majors. She now has three daughters, ages 24, 21 and 14, which she considers her proudest achievements. She loves spending time with her family and showing appreciation for them, which is why Christmas is her favorite holiday. One of the most common questions Meisha gets from students is what major to choose. Her advice is to take career assessment tests and to find something that makes them genuinely happy — this means blocking out noise from parents and outside influences.
Research any interests that you may have and look into potential careers. She also urges students to understand that there is not one path on their journey. Meisha herself is a great example of this as she is currently returning back to school, this time to discover more about herself and to lead her closer to her destination. Meisha Wade is one of the finest resources the University of Florida has to offer.
Go in and talk to her about your major, and then strike up a conversation about Scandal or any of the Housewives, some of her favorite TV shows! In addition to her office hours, Wanda is also tabling in all of our first year areas over the next four weeks to answer quick questions and give advice and information to our resident-students.
Our Living Learning Communities are off to a strong start! This week of programs and initiatives helps our LLC students focus on mindfulness, wellness, and self-care. Picnic Table Advising is at the end of October! The Study Buddies program is in full swing! We are excited to partner with the UF Teaching Center to offer tutoring and exam review sessions in residential areas for students in six popular classes.
All students are welcome, and refreshments and study packets are provided! Advisors are some of our favorite partners to work with, because you KNOW students.

Angela Linder created and works with. Please see below. He said that the purpose of this council is to be effective communicators with the information that is related to undergraduate academics to the units and divisions of the university and the student body.
In addition to serving as an informational resource, this council also will engage in programming efforts in academics as the need arises. The members of this council are serving as representatives of their respective program areas, organizations, academic units, and divisions. These council members may also act as liaisons to stakeholders invested in undergraduate academics both within and outside of the university. The College of Design, Construction and Planning has two separate advising offices-- one for architecture, interior design, landscape architecture, and sustainability majors and one for building construction majors.
ProTeach has a formal process of selective admission to our upper-division teacher education program as a student transitions into the junior year. After ProTeach admission, a faculty advisor is assigned to each student, and EduGator Central becomes a secondary advising contact. EduGator Central also provides advising to education minors and general teacher certification advising for non-ED students. First-year students are beginning students not transfer students admitted in summer B or fall, regardless of number of credit hours.
All other engineering students are advised by their respective departments. All engineering majors are required to see an academic advisor at least once each semester. Academic advising in the College of Health and Human Performance is based on major.
