Yes No. Indeed Featured review The most useful review selected by Indeed. As many employees did, I sought out StraighterLine because of the mission and stuck around because every day I am able to impact student lives positively by helping them earn transfer credit.
The work is challenging, senior leadership sets audacious goals, and a scrappy "startup" culture is still in place. If you're interested in working to change higher ed and support students, the work is very rewarding. Pros Every single day you get to help improve student lives.
Cons Demanding and fast paced. Was this review helpful? Report Share. I work from home. I have a contract position. My team is amazing. Everything is explained with the minutia of details. I get an email with my tasks and how to accomplish each one of them. Even though I may already know what to do, they always make sure that I read the instructions, and invite me for a quick videocall to ensure that the job can be done properly.
Each week is different. And that's what I like about working at StraighterLine. Cons I'm on another country. I wish I can see my team more often to work on projects. So many problems, most of them revolve around the managers not being qualified. Communication is joke around here. Mass hiring just to get warm bodies in seats and make it look like growth.
Company culture is terrible. Good employees don't stay here long. Pros Dogs were allowed when we were in the office. Cons No work life balance. Work is flexible, pay is good for this work, and you have all the flexibility you want to set your schedule or pay.
Things can be a little slow some months, so be prepared for that. Pros Flexible. Cons Work availability varries. Great position as an adjunct professor and subject matter expert.
Managers are helpful and want to make your work easier. Quick response to questions and technical issues. Yes There are 1 helpful reviews 1 No. Your experience matters. Help out others considering your employer. Rate your employer. Waste of time. I worked there for about two weeks. The two young ladies who called themselves management were more interested in the bagels and hitting on the boss in PA than the actual job itself.
One of them stomped around the office and the other one just put on makeup all day. And their product is a scam. Just taking a good guess but almost none of their offerings are accredited. Please do yourself a favor and run the other way. Pros None. Cons Everything. Yes There are 7 helpful reviews 7 No There are 1 unhelpful reviews 1. There is so much wrong with the company and how they treat their frontline employees. As a frontline employee, you are the face to any caller to StraighterLine.
Yet, your voice is the last one listened to and your position means nothing. Callers will cry and moan to get their way.
Which means the policies and procedures taught to the staff go out the window!
