Blackboard Architecture Culture Team. My name is Jennifer Sayer and I am 18 years old. There were six work experience participants altogether. The age range was from and we were all studying very different things. For this reason, we were asked to come as we had some prior engagement with CAFOD rather than filling out an application. We found throughout the work experience that regardless of the various paths we wanted to take in the future, we all gained really useful skills from the experience and loved every second we spent as a group.

Before we arrived, I had been thoroughly convinced we were going to be given some menial tasks to carry out to keep us occupied for two weeks. A number of them set us tasks that would genuinely help them with their own work, including writing script ideas for the CAFOD National Assemblies.

With COP26 just around the corner in November we wanted to boost the media attention the meeting gets, and so we took photos, did interviews and posted about it on our social media to raise awareness of the importance of COP26 for our climate. We offer transitional housing and immigration and settlement support in the spirit of good neighbours valuing dignity, mutuality and care.
